Chester - URGENT! PLEASE HELP US!

ChesterAge: +10 years
Sex: Male
Breed: Purebred Cocker Spaniel (Buff)
Size: Medium

Poor Chester. Chester is our BLIND +10 year old Cocker Spaniel who lived on a ranch with an elder lady who “collected” animals and neglected them. He was rescued and came to us as one big knot– his fur was badly matted, eyes were covered with fur, and the groomers apparently spent 3 hours trying to shave him down and clean him up. Even during his painful haircut (due to ticks and scabs from old injuries), Chester never made one peep and never attempted to struggle. He silently stood on the grooming table and was so gracious to get groomed; something he’s longed for in years.

Chester is blind in one eye and can barely see shadows in the other. He will bump into walls, but he is quick to find his way around by sniffing and locating corners. He is good on the leash, and will do well in a home with a stay-at-home parent, or even a retired family looking to adopt a bundle of love. He will cherish every single moment with a human companion. He has a very mellow personality and constantly wags his tail when he hears you coming. He would like to be pampered and loved just like any other normal doggy? Will it be you?

Chester is indeed our special-needs doggy, and will most likely take longer to adopt– we will provide him with a happy and comfortable foster home until we find the perfect match. WE WILL NEVER PUT HIM TO SLEEP.

UPDATE: Chester is now at Best Friends Animal Society where he will be treated for his medical problems and will also live out the rest of his life at the sanctuary. He is currently sharing a run with several other BF buddies and he is thriving! Fuzzy Rescue is very gracious to BF and, of course, his guardian angels: Ms. Liz Finch and Ms. Lisa Whitaker! What a happy ending!
